Cook the ground beef, onion, and bell pepper in a medium-sized skillet over medium heat. Crumble it as it cooks. Remove any excess grease.
Add all remaining ingredients (except for shredded cheese and buns) and stir well to combine.
Simmer over low heat for 10 minutes.
Slice the slider buns in half horizontally, keeping the top and bottom connected. Toast the buns (I do this while they’re all still connected). Place the bottom buns on a serving platter. Spread on the meat mixture. Then top with the shredded cheese and the top buns. Serve hot.
Notes
Lightly toasting the slider buns helps prevent them from getting soggy while adding a bit of crunch.
Let the meat mixture simmer until it's thick and hearty to keep the sliders from becoming too messy.
Prepare the filling in advance and warm it up just before serving for an easy, stress-free appetizer.
