12 ounce box of Chex cereal 6 ounces pecans halved or chopped 6 ounces peanuts 1 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup dark corn syrup
Preheat the oven to 250° F. Lightly grease a baking sheet or cover it in parchment paper. Set aside.
Mix the cereal, pecans, and peanuts in a large bowl.
Mix brown sugar, dark corn syrup, and butter in a saucepan. Heat over medium-high heat until it boils. Boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat and pour over cereal mixture. Mix well so all of the cereal is covered, taking care to not break up the cereal too much.
Pour the mixture onto a baking sheet and bake for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
Remove from oven and cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
Possible add-ins include cheerios, raisins, pretzels, chocolate chips, m&m’s, slivered almonds
