In a large bowl, combine the tequila, fresh lime juice, olive oil, honey, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
Add the chicken wings to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (around 400°F, 200°C).
Oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
Remove the wings from the marinade, letting any excess drip off. Discard the marinade.
Place the wings on the grill in a single layer. Grill for about 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally, until the wings are cooked through and have a nice char on the outside. The internal temperature should reach 165°F(75°C).
Once the wings are done, remove them from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
Sprinkle with fresh cilantro.
Serve with lime wedges on the side for an extra burst of citrus.
