Delicious Baked Fontina Dip
If you’re looking for an easy, melty dip that’s all about the cheese, this Baked Fontina Dip is it. Made with just a handful of ingredients, it bubbles up golden and gooey in the oven, ready for crusty bread or crackers. It’s the kind of appetizer that disappears fast—because who can resist hot, bubbling cheese?
Serve the dip immediately, as the cheese will start to harden as it cools. I like to serve it with sliced baguette or chips. But you can serve it with veggie sticks too, if you want. There are no rules!

Helpful Tips
- Use a cast iron skillet or broiler-safe dish – Fontina melts quickly, so using a dish that can go under the broiler safely ensures even melting and those golden, bubbly edges.
- Add fresh herbs just before serving – Toss chopped rosemary or thyme on top after baking for the best flavor and a pop of freshness.
- Serve it hot and fast – This dip is best right out of the oven while it’s still gooey—have your dippers ready to go before it comes out.
