This creamy, cheesy dip is pure comfort food with a little bit of a bite. It’s bold, rich, and made for dipping soft pretzels, chips, or pretty much anything.
Add butter and flour to a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk to combine as the butter melts. Add the garlic powder, mustard, salt and pepper. Cook for 1 minute.
Add beer, whisking continuously as you pour to form a smooth sauce. Cook for about 3 minutes, whisking occasionally, until slightly thickened. If it’s too thick, add a bit more beer.
Add the cheese a little bit at a time, stirring until melted.
Serve immediately with soft pretzels or other dippers.
