Christmas tree dip

It’s easy to make, totally customizable, and comes together in under an hour. Perfect for holiday parties when you want something fun but low-effort. Everyone can just tear off a roll and dip straight in, no extra dishes needed.

Helpful Tips

  • Use kitchen shears to cut the dough into even pieces, it’s quicker and cleaner than a knife.
  • Cook and drain the spinach fully so the dip doesn’t get watery.
  • Customize the heat by leaving in some jalapeño seeds or swapping in a milder pepper if you prefer.

Ingredients

  • 1 bag frozen roll dough thawed
  • 3 tablespoons black sesame seeds
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 3/4 cup spinach cooked and squeezed of liquid
  • 8 green onions thinly sliced
  • 4 jalapeños seeded and diced
  • 8 slices bacon cooked and crumbled
  • 8 ounces pepper jack cheese shredded
  • 4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese shredded

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Cut the dough balls in half. You may not need to use the whole bag of rolls. It depends on how big you want your Christmas tree.
  • Place the pieces of dough in the shape you want on the baking sheet. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with black sesame seeds. Cover it with plastic wrap and put it in a warm place to rise, until doubled in size, about 30 minutes.
  • In a bowl, mix together the cream cheese, spinach, onions, jalapenos, bacon, pepper jack and cheddar cheeses, and food coloring, if using. Stir until well combined.
  • Once the dough has doubled, scoop the dip into the middle of the tree. Bake for 20 minutes or until the rolls are cooked through and golden.
  • Serve hot.
