We tend to make a big batch and put it in a resealable container in the fridge to use for whatever comes up. It’s great even just spread on some French bread for dinner.

You can also make garlic bread in the air fryer, which is a fantastic side dish.

Helpful Tips

  • Every air fryer is different. So, we don’t recommend going strictly by the book when it comes to the cooking time and temperature.
  • You can start with our suggestion for 400° F for 30 minutes to see how it does for you, then adjust the temp and time for next time. My Ninja Max XL cooks very hot at 400° F so I always adjust down to 390° F instead.
  • It’s actually best to check if it’s cooked after 25 minutes have passed to prevent possibly burning it. You’ll know it’s done when you see the lovely golden-brown color on the exposed garlic parts.
  • Another sign of doneness is that the garlic cloves should slightly pop out of the skin. This tells you that the cloves will easily come out if you squeeze the bulb.

Ingredients

  • 2 bulbs garlic
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • pinch salt optional

Instructions

  • Cut the top off of the garlic bulb to expose the cloves inside. Place each bulb onto a piece of tinfoil that’s large enough to draw up over the top of the garlic to form a pouch. Drizzle each with 2 teaspoons of olive oil. Make a pouch of the tinfoil around the garlic.
  • Put the garlic in the air fryer and cook at 400° F(200°C) for 30 minutes. The garlic should be tender and soft. If it’s not, cook for 5 minutes more and test again.
  • Let the garlic cool and then squeeze the cloves out.
