Festive Rice Krispies Christmas Trees
These adorable Rice Krispies Christmas Trees are a fun and festive no-bake treat that come together in under 30 minutes. They’re easy to shape, fun to decorate, and perfect for parties, cookie swaps, or a cozy afternoon in the kitchen with kids.

You’ll love these because they start with a classic Rice Krispies treat base but turn into something whimsical with just a few extra touches. Green food coloring transforms the cereal into tree-like shapes, and candy decorations make them pop. They’re simple to make but look impressively cute on any holiday dessert table.
Helpful Tips
- Use greased hands or gloves: Shaping the trees can get sticky, so lightly grease your hands with butter or oil before forming each one.
- Let the mixture cool slightly: Give it a few minutes to cool before shaping to avoid burns and help it hold its shape better.
- Have your decorations ready: Press in the candies or sprinkles while the treats are still a little warm so they stick easily.

- Pour the mixture onto the baking tray. Put some butter on your hands and pat down the Rice Krispies until uniform and even. Allow to cool for an hour.
- Use a knife or cookie cutter to cut out the trees. Decorate as you like.
Notes
- Use a fresh bag of marshmallows for this recipe. We all have half used bags in the pantry but they will not melt as well. Grab a new bag at the grocery store.
- Try adding a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the melted marshmallows. It adds more flavor.
- You can coat your fingers or spoon in butter to keep the rice krispies mixture from sticking to your hands while you are pressing it into the baking tray. You can also wet your finger with water and press the mixture into the baking sheet both options should keep your hands clean.
- Add a cup of mini marshmallows to your mixing bowl as you are stirring the cereal into the melted marshmallows. The mini marshmallows will melt and add extra little texture and chewiness.
