Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef or a mix of beef and pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1/4 cup onion grated
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika optional
  • 12-15 slices bacon cut in half
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce store-bought or homemade

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, onion, garlic, egg, milk, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Mix everything together until just combined – don’t overmix or the meatballs may become tough.
  • Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter. You should get around 12-15 meatballs.
  • Wrap 2 pieces of bacon over the top of each meatball, securing the ends underneath. If needed, you can use a toothpick to hold the bacon in place.
  • Place the bacon-wrapped meatballs on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and the bacon is crispy.
  • Once the meatballs are done, transfer them to a large bowl and pour the warm BBQ sauce over them. Toss to coat evenly.
