Puff Pastry Christmas Tree Appetizer
If you want a holiday appetizer that’s as fun to look at as it is to eat, this Puff Pastry Christmas Tree Appetizer is the answer. Buttery layers of pastry are twisted with a savory filling, then baked into a golden, festive centerpiece that’s perfect for pulling apart and sharing. It’s easy to make, impressive on the table, and guaranteed to become one of those holiday recipes you’ll look forward to baking every year.

- Keep the puff pastry cold: Work with chilled or even partially frozen pastry to make it easier to cut and shape. Warm pastry can become sticky and lose its structure.
- Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter: This ensures clean cuts for your tree shapes, helping them hold their festive design during baking.
- Brush with an egg wash: A light coating of beaten egg gives the pastry a beautiful golden-brown finish and helps any toppings stick securely.
- Let them cool slightly: Let the trees cool slightly before adding the cheese star; you don’t want it to melt into a gooey blob.
