Helpful Tips

  1. Keep the Puff Pastry Cold – Work with chilled puff pastry to prevent it from becoming too soft and sticky. If it warms up, pop it in the fridge for a few minutes before rolling and slicing.
  2. Use a Sharp Knife or Dental Floss – To get clean slices, use a sharp knife and cut in a gentle sawing motion. For an even neater cut, try unflavored dental floss by sliding it under the roll, crossing the ends over the top, and pulling tight.
  3. Don’t Overfill – Too much sauce or toppings can make the pinwheels hard to roll and cause leaks while baking. Spread a thin, even layer of sauce and toppings, leaving a small border around the edges.
