Caramelized French Onion Dip

Pinterest Hidden Image

This is Caramelized French Onion Dip done right with slow-cooked, golden brown onions that bring serious depth and flavor. It’s rich, creamy, and way better than anything you’d find in a store-bought tub. The combo of sour cream, mayo, and buttery onions makes every bite irresistible.

Caramelized onion dip

You’ll want to give the onions time to really caramelize, but after that, it’s just a quick mix and chill. Letting it sit overnight takes the flavor to the next level, making it perfect for prepping ahead. Serve it cold with chips, pretzels, or a mix of crunchy veggies.

Helpful Tips

  • Cook the onions low and slow, don’t rush it. The longer they caramelize, the sweeter and richer they’ll taste.
  • Cool the onions completely before mixing them into the dip to keep it from thinning out.
  • Make it the night before if you can. The flavors meld together even better after a few hours in the fridge.
