Caramelized French Onion Dip
This is Caramelized French Onion Dip done right with slow-cooked, golden brown onions that bring serious depth and flavor. It’s rich, creamy, and way better than anything you’d find in a store-bought tub. The combo of sour cream, mayo, and buttery onions makes every bite irresistible.

You’ll want to give the onions time to really caramelize, but after that, it’s just a quick mix and chill. Letting it sit overnight takes the flavor to the next level, making it perfect for prepping ahead. Serve it cold with chips, pretzels, or a mix of crunchy veggies.
Helpful Tips
- Cook the onions low and slow, don’t rush it. The longer they caramelize, the sweeter and richer they’ll taste.
- Cool the onions completely before mixing them into the dip to keep it from thinning out.
- Make it the night before if you can. The flavors meld together even better after a few hours in the fridge.
