Homemade Air Fryer Biscuits
These Homemade Air Fryer Biscuits are really quick to make and they bake up warm and fluffy in the air fryer in less time than the oven.

Biscuits are a staple side dish in the south and have become well-loved all over the country. They have a flaky, buttery texture that just melts in your mouth and pairs well with a variety of meals.
Why You’ll Love It
- When you make biscuits in the air fryer, you’re in for a treat. The hot circulating air ensures that each layer of the biscuit is evenly cooked, resulting in a golden-brown exterior and a soft, flaky interior.
- Traditional baking often requires preheating the oven and patiently waiting for the biscuits to rise. With the air fryer, you can skip the preheating process and have your biscuits on the table in a fraction of the time.
- Crafting drop biscuits is a breeze, offering a hassle-free solution to prevent your kitchen from turning into a flour-covered battleground and the subsequent cleanup that follows.
Helpful Tips
- Be careful not to knead the dough for too long. This will make your biscuits dry and tough.
- Both the butter and milk should be very cold before mixing it into the dough.
- Freeze the butter and then use a cheese grater to grate the butter into small pieces. It will save you a ton of time.
- Unlike bread, biscuit dough does not need to be rested. You want to keep all the butter in the dough nice and cold. If you do not use the dough immediately, then the butter will soften.
- Follow the measurements closely. Using too much of one ingredient could leave you with a biscuit that’s dry and tough.
- Brush some melted butter on top of the biscuits after baking to add an extra layer of flavor.

I was skeptical about making biscuits in the air fryer, but this recipe proved me wrong.
Glad they came out well for you!
This biscuit recipe is a winner.
It’s incredible how well the air fryer cooked these biscuits.
I love the idea of making biscuits in the air fryer, but I’m wondering if it’s possible to make them ahead of time and reheat them later?
Sure, you can do that. To reheat them just add them back to the air fryer basket and cook at 350° F for 2-3 minutes.
The biscuits come out light and fluffy.
So glad to hear that James.
I cut your recipe in half, added a little vanilla and sugar. Baked on aluminum foil in the air fryer for 7-8 minutes. Fresh, wonderful, crisp tops. Split for fresh and quick strawberry shortcake. Delish.
Sounds amazing Trudy!
I really appreciate your sharing this. I used a GF all-purpose flour blend, then I also substituted cold bacon fat for the butter. It was fantastic. I served it with sausage and white gravy.
I’m new to air frying….most recipes I’ve read say to flip food over 1/2 way thru..should the bisquits be flipped?
You do need to flip foods that need to crisp evenly on both sides, but biscuits don’t really fall into the category, so we don’t flip them.
Love the recipe!! Best biscuits ever!! They came out so fluffy and nicely browned. Thank you!!!
We are so happy to hear that Rosa!
These are amazing. So easy. Thank you!!
So happy to hear that you like them Jenny.
If I freeze the uncooked biscuits would I need to thaw them before air frying?
No need to thaw them Carla. Just place them in the air fryer and cook for 10 minutes at 330 degrees. Then flip them over and continue cooking for 5-10 minutes longer. If they are doughy in the middle leave them in the air fryer basket, closed with the air fryer off for 2-3 minutes.
