Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 small green pepper finely chopped
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 ounces tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese for garnish if desired
  • 2 tablespoons chives chopped (optional)

Instructions
 

  • In an oven-safe skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, onion, and bell pepper. Crumble the meat as it cooks. Once browned, drain any excess grease from the pan.
  • Add all remaining ingredients (except for cheese) and stir well to combine. Simmer over low heat for 10 minutes.
  • Turn off the heat. Top with the cheese. Press some of the cheese down into the meat. Place the skillet under the broiler for 3-5 minutes, until the cheese is melted and a little bubbly.
  • Top with chives and serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can also use a can of Manwich Sloppy Joe to cut down on time and make it easier.
